Has anyone on here been following the redistricting legal battle in NC? Should I post to a different forum? http://www.wral.com/nc-redistricting-maps-subject-of-2-day-trial/12512472/

Hey Karen. I hadn't seen anything on this. Thanks for the post. You could also create a NC forum from your personal page and post there. Once you elect to start a NC board every Solitical member in NC will be invited to join. You can also start forums for city and zip code as well if you choose.

Mudsliging, name calling, postering- The conservative media is having a field day with this. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Monday became the latest Republican to reject Darrell Issa's comments that White House press secretary Jay Carney is a "paid liar" in relation to the IRS controversy. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/huffpolitics-blog/

The IRS debacle will be an interesting story to reflect back on in 6 months. http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/03/politics/irs-targeting/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

What I tend to reflect on now is the difference in press coverage and constituent reactions between this and the previous administration. I recall alot of harsh and personal criticism and personal attacks on Bush for perceived scandals, but the coverage for fast and furious, benghazi, IRS, DOJ phone records and now PRISM seems to be generally okay with the same folks who wanted to crucify our last President. Politics is a mess and no administration is going to be perfect, but some consistency in the press and people's "mock outrage" and some semblance of accountability would be nice given everything that's come out in the last few months.

Not politics, but always love reading about the latest billion dollar social media acquisition... http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/20/tech/web/tumblr-things-to-know/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

I found it interesting that POTUS has apparently not dropped in polls after recent scandals...think Caldwell may have conducted the poll. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/05/20/second-term-polls-how-do-obama-and-clinton-compare/?hpt=hp_t2

With the constant negative press on 43, even to this day (4.5 years since he left office). I found both of these articles very compelling, especially since they were written by self-proclaimed "liberal, democrats". Everyone, particularly my democrat contacts should take a minute to read. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/04/25/george-w-bush-has-saved-more-lives-than-any-american-president/?intcmp=obnetwork http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/04/25/democrat-reveals-3-things-liberals-dont-get-about-george-w-bush/?intcmp=obinsite

Seem to be many "smoking gun" stories out there without mainstream coverage, follow-up or accountability, but I'm sure everyone knows what happened on reality TV in the last week....http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/12/arizona-group-documents-border-battle-with-revealing-audio-images/

Why isn't this being covered anywhere else? Checked the usual suspects of CNN and MSNBC. Given what passes as "news" these days I would think and hope a trial with these kinds of claims and charges would warrant massive coverage and conversation. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/04/10/monstrous-abortion-trial-that-media-dont-want-to-know-about/?test=latestnews

Sanford and Colbert for SC Dist 1. Interesting matchup. Name recognition - check. Republican stronghold - check. Character issues for Republican candidate - check.

From what I can tell of the member area, there are quite a few SC members of Solitical. Can anyone explain to me how or why SC is poised to send a career politician, with prior questionable decision making, back to Washington? This is a poor reflection of SC citizen decision making. For anyone who complains about politicians or their actions, this is how you end up where you are, by recycling questionable leaders with questionable character. Someone please explain the rationale.

The SC race has been interesting one. Todays runoff will be very telling about where Sanford and the state intend to go.
